Recycling & WEEE
A basic, but fundamentally important practice that we follow is recycling. Our comprehensive recycling program helps minimise our landfill contributions and supports a circular economy. We actively recycle our waste and products, ensuring that materials are repurposed where possible or placed into the appropriate disposal bins.

Given the nature of our business and the products that we supply, it is important that we recycle our equipment by following our WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) directive. WEEE helps us to establish a framework and process that ensures we are disposing of our electronic and electrical equipment correctly, enforcing our sustainability practices. We ensure all of our e-waste is collected, recovered and processed with repurposing in mind. In instances where elements can’t be reused on site, we have designated WEEE bins which ensure such equipment is sent to a specialised processing facility where they are subsequently shredded into small pieces to be recycled.

By focusing on WEEE recycling, we believe our business demonstrates compliance and commitment to sustainable waste management. This approach reduces the need for raw materials, conserves energy, and mitigates the environmental impact of improper disposal.

RoHS
Similarly to WEEE, we also have a responsibility to adhere to RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) regulations. Implemented by the European Union, RoHS limits the use of hazardous substances in electrical products and equipment. This regulation is important as it prevents the risks posed to human health and the environment related to the management of electrical waste.

Where possible, recognised harmful substances should be substituted in order to follow to the RoHS guidelines. Harmful substances that have been specifically highlighted by this directive include lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium and more. Taking this into consideration, we have eradicated our use of the majority of these substances by substituting, product testing and requesting compliance declarations from our manufacturers where possible.

One of our success stories comes from our introduction and implementation of Klaran UVC devices. Klaran is a water purification device that removes bacteria, viruses and other pathogens from drinking water. Klaran is not only an environmentally conscious product, but it also conforms to RoHS initiatives by removing the use of mercury. Conventional water purification devices use UV lamps which contain mercury to treat drinking water. Klaran replaces the mercury lamps with LEDs, creating a more consistent and eco-friendly water

Energy Efficiency
Conserving energy and limiting the amount wasted is a particularly important part of the design process when creating new machines. We understand the importance of being able to offer more energy efficient machines, especially with the increase in sustainability initiatives in a range of industries.
